Best of Bock? at Der Pelikan |

I haven't visited the "Best of Bock" in the Pelikan. But Stefan Zehendner has told me about an internal pre-tasting with a group of beerlovers and brewmasters with around 2 douzen regional bocks. They have decided that the Hölzlein Bock has been the best bock of the season (within the tasted bocks). And a visitor of the Best of Bock has told me, that he and some other guests has preferred this bock. But I haven'T see Heiner (the owner of the Pelikan) to ask him, which bocks has been sold out earlier than the others. Mr. Hölzlein has told me, that his bock has been fast sold out at the brewery (and also in the Café Abseits). They have doubled the volumen (2 batches instead 1) and want brew a further batch available in the lent time. Next year they will brew 3 batches for the automn, because their customers were disappointed that the bock is sold out after some days. On the other side it's maybe a good strategy to be sold out after a short time (p.e. Mönchsambacher Weihnachtsbock with his extreme good reputation). |
