I also spent an afternoon, or at least a couple - few hours in Utrecht on our first trip to Amsterdam, I guess that was in early 2001. I recall the Olivier converted church café place as well as the places along the Gracht. If we *live* there, it would be so much better if there *weren't* such a great beer scene, actually, for health and financial reasons.

I think I shall have to seek approval for a quick trip to Schumacher's secret beer do. If we stopped on the way there or back, it'd have to be an over-night stop, as we'd be driving. Which wouldn't be the end of the world!
