| Lots of interesting ideas to mull over. To an extent, where we stay depends on how long we stay. For an extended stay (2 week plus), ideally, we like somewhere a bit bigger than a village with one brewery/pub and, preferably, with a freibad or hallenbad. Some nice flatish walks are a big 'yes'. Probably most forummers would have got the drift of the sort of pubs we like - food not important, as most don't do much in the way of veggie cuisine, so that kind of rules out places like Memmelsdorf, where the two brew pubs are really restaurants that brew and sell beer (IMHO!). Love Forchheim and Bamberg but feel that we should branch out a bit. I'm think that somewhere near Staffelstein would be good, as the town has all the appropriate facilities, being a holiday resort (lots of fewo's and a pool), and there are a lot of breweries within reasonably easy reach. |
