Whole Hops in a real Brauerei! |

| Well, it's only Lammsbräu, and it's not even in Franken (in the Oberpfalz), but there it is, a real, live, working commercial brewery where whole hop cones are used because of their better aroma characteristics. I saw it on the national morning news "magazine" TV show, so it must be true! Yesterday's segment was at Klosterzelle or whatever it's called up there in the former East Germany where you bathe in beer and they have a legal exemption from the Reinheitsgebot, so they can sell beer with fruit and spices as "Bier". And that video marks a personal first for me: hearing Benjamin Franklin mis-quoted about beer on TV, in German. D'oh! |
