Düsseldorfer Altbier is typically darker than the beer in the photo, and even then, they have their own spectrum, with Frankenheim Alt tending towards deep-brown darkness, the others not as dark. Münster Altbier, though, is quite pale, even golden. It wouldn't be out of place to consider just about any top-fermented (but cold-conditioned) beer made with Altbier or similar yeast and Alt. What the brewer chooses to call it is a matter of preference.
