Oh gosh, I hope that I haven't oversold Neder and that you're not disappointed! In essence, it's just what I would call (from my English/Irish experience) an ordinary pub - nothing fancy. Yo mention Sternla don't know if it is still open; only went in once a few years ago. A nice place but a bit restaraunt-y for me, which reminds me to say that, as far as I know, Neder does not sell food. I could be wrong because I've never been in at lunchtime. Certainly, people eat in there - one guy used to come in every night and brings his grub in with him but I don't recall seeing any sign of food being served. Same with Greif - maybe they sell food but I've never seen any sign. Eichorn do - I know because we ate in there with Ian Harrison - and so do Sclössle at lunchtimes. Schwanen in the Paradplatz, a few hundred metres away down the Hauptstr do a lot of food. Pub food wasn't critical during our stay in Forchheim because we had an apartment 2 minutes walk from Neder but, right opposite Neder, is an excellent takeaway - Lily's Asian Imbiss. Very cheap (certainly by Irish or English standards) and cooked fresh right in front of you - it's worth going in just to see the guys in action! Also you can eat in there. There are lots of cafes/takeaways on Bamburgerstr on the way to Sclössle/Greif. Enjoy yourself! |
