OT: Bamberger Hörnla

The potatoes of the variety Bamberger Hörnla are available p.e. at some stalls of the green market in the Fußgängerzone (pedestrian area?), place: "Grüner Markt" etc., but also from the wholesaler for veggies and fruits (a little bit difficult for tourists to visit; the locations are in industriall areas. A small outlet is near the Café Abseits:
Frischfrucht Konrad, Schildstr. 72, 96050 Bamberg
The shop is small, but they can take also products from the big halls behind the shop, which is a wholesaler.

The pub Pelikan sometimes offer wok food with "Bamberger Hörnla", that's fusion food, thai spiced with franconian ingredients, see their menu:
"Bamberg´s HÖRNLA in the wok
  • with Massaman-Curry, vegetarian
  • with farmer´s Bratwurst and vegetables
  • with half fried duck and vegetables"
They get it from the farmer Bioland-Hof Mohl in Abtsdorf.
The Pelikan has - inspired by the community Slow-Food - also other traditional ingredients as Pastinaken (parsnips) and kohlrabi.
