Just returned from Bamberg

Another excellent trip, Highlights were Kommunbrauer Neuhaus/Peg, Goller in Zeil, (especially the dunkle Weizen) Rossdorf am Forst,(which was closed for Urlaub = Holidays) but the bottling plant was open behind the Gastatte & seeing me looking so dissapointed the brewer gave me two free beers, Spezial (espesially the "U") Wagner brau in Kemmern, which unbelievably was also not open until later in the afternoon, again bottle plant behind the pub & some excellent beers my favourite of which was a red beer called zwilling or swilling,& only 80 cents a bottle ! Mahrs for the atmosphere & the "U" , Greifenklau, which now do a Rauchbier quite sutble but nice, Lowenbrau in Buttenheim & finally Kraus in Hirchaid.
