Big news - first crop of hops at Danganella! |

| (If anyone doesn't know, Danganella is where I live.) Forget all the rest of the drivel that I've posted on the forum, I've just harvested (big word for cutting off a few dozen flowers) my first home grown hops! I've also just remembered what EKS stands for - sure you wouldn't have taken as long as me. They smell fantastic, bitter but with a sort of smell of wild garlic. The sad thing is that I don't have any beer on the go to use them in. So, after extensive reading on the internet, I'm going to freeze them. The jury seems to be out a bit on whether this is detrimental but I don't really have any choice: it's either freeze them or throw them and I simply can't do the latter. |
