Until 1997 our Café Abseits have had a contract with this brewery, so we had to tap their beers. They can brew beer as all German breweries can. But they have a bad image in Bamberg. Maybe the reason is that in each city the greatest brewery has a bad Image (Tucher in Nuremberg, Keiserdom in Bamberg etc.) You know: David against Goliath. I believe if You make a blind tasting, the beers are okay (as other industrial beers too), but not a must-have. They have their focus on services for other breweries, but also to brew and fill beers for shop chaines ("Handelsmarken"). Maybe many people drink Kaiserdom and don't know it. There are licenses in China and Sweden. They have the only one fillery for cans (until 1,0 l). They fill seasonal special editions They have kosher beer for Israel and maybe for kosher restaurants in the world. They have an alcohol-free beer (0,0% vol. alc.) for the moslems. They have brands as "Weizenland" for wheat beer. So other breweries can use the botttles as their own brand. They have other brands: - Bürgerbräu for cheap beers. They brew "Alt-Bamberg" with a rustical branding. "Prostel" is a brand of alcohol-free beers. The "Hotel-Restaurant Kaiserdom" in Gaustadt http://www.hotel-kaiserdom.de/ has been a brewpub of the Brauerei. Since many years this restaurant is indepent, lented from the brewrey, but they offer Kaiserdom beers. |
