Another Franconian PA

Price of hops...for my homebrewing, I buy quite a bit of hops from my old supplier in Oregon, paying postal shipping costs and usually 19% VAT on arrival here. The last shipment added up to about 16.50€ / kg, though that was 2/3 more expensive varieties than the normal Chinook/Centennials. I also sometimes buy local hops here for 20 € / kg. So in my anecdotal, potentially irrelevant case, German hops cost more than Oregonian hops do...in Germany.
