| Maybe you said Roppelt was the best Kellerbier. We've been enjoying bottled Schlenkerla Hell at home the last few days, at least for "happy hour". It's an excellent Hell, especially at 4.3% abv, and the slight smokiness (no smoked malt though!) just adds to its complexity. And with food. An experimental bottle of Dorn Bräu Hell (Jürgen!) was also quite lovely yesterday, though it had to settle a bit after opening and pouring. Too strong for the relative lack of flavour & complexity, but even so, miles and miles ahead of Münchner Helles. |
