"Hefetrüb" is also a very plausible translation for "yeast-turbid". Like the indications on bottles of various "unfiltriert" and/or "ungespundet" beers. Checking...indeed it does say "hefetrübe" on the German page. I think "ungespundetes" beer may not be labeled thus if it's filtered...(didn't we discuss this as well?)...or is that "Kellerbier"? Gerhard? Spezial's webbie says their U is unfiltered, and is called "ungespundet" because ... the usual reason, lagered unbunged. Amazing how bright a beer will drop after cold lagering a good long while -- no fish bladders necessary! :) |
