| Thanks all. See you some time around 5.30 pm Irish time! Slowly recovering this morning from a long night with Frank, his brother Juergen and a supporting cast of thousands at Mahrs, Schlenkerla and some rabbit warren of a place above Stihlbruck in Sandstr. Here we polished off a 1.5 L bottle of Metzgerei Uetzing beer, which I'm pretty sure was excellent. Mahrs still retains its strange allure despite appalling service, being thrown off our table at 7 pm in the midst of brezen and U because of a table reservation and, finally, being served some strange beer from a cask that claimed to be U, which it most certainly was not. Why do I love it? Probably because of all those things but, most importantly, because of the U, which I will defend to the death! |
