Farewell to Forchheim

Writing this as we prepare to leave Forchheim for Bamberg, Friday morning.

We had a good farewll round of visits yesterday. Started at Greif, I really like their helles, it's a lovely place and the people are nice. Moved on to a final Hebendanz at Schloessla, ditto Greif. Tried Schwane but it was closing as we got there, so diverted to Neder, around 15.00. Had virtually the last seidlas of the fass, which was immediately replaced. It was very busy, with most of the familiar faces. Went back around 8.30 pm and that fass had been replaced by a smaller one, which ran out as we came through the door, so settled for Schwarz Anna - no sacrifice!

I don't know how many litres these casks hold but that's a lot of beer drunk in a very short time. But hardly surprising, good beer at a good price (€1.90/0.5l). The lady in charge of the ausschank was very friendly as usual, asked if we were on holiday and wished us a good timefor the rest of our stay. I could really get to like Neder!

Now on to Bamberg!
