Now that's what I call amber!

Yeah, I was wondering about that comment. I should've thought to mention the touristy aspect, but then as you said, you're in that part of town, so...should've also told you to check out Hütt'n across the street! That would've been a LOT of beer in the end though.

Regarding amber. This BJCP-afflicted Yank homebrewer would personally call Aichinger Spezialbier "dark golden" rather than amber or light amber. (N.b. I am actually *not* BJCP certified, nor do I give a toss about them!) But as always, we should check the collective wisdom of r8beer, when we're not 100% certain what to think of a given beer.

There, the reviews with descriptions of the colour are
3 x gold of some variety
3 x amber of some variety
1 x each medium yellow orange, orange, copper

So, I suppose amber is appropriate, though I would personally call it "deep golden". Great beer in any case!
