| Absolutely right, Barry. By the way: The most authentic city we found was Penzance. A lot of things there reminded me of Glasgow: Closed shops, rubbish and friendly drunkards on the streets, people in trainers with plastic bags, weeds in the gutter... You can tell by the face who's cornish and who not. That isn't meant to sound racist or something or as an insult against the English - it's just nice to find islands with an unspoilt culture in what seems to be some kind of english colony otherwise. That's the reason why I never go to Mallorca - it's been taken over by Germans, bloody hell! |
