Nuremberg beer fest report

I made the festival on the Friday. Thoroughly miserable weather as mentioned before. Highlights for me was the IPA by Wiethaler 3,50 for 0.3 and the Dunkle beer by Nikl Brau. Managed to get to Brauerei Kraus in Hirschaid on the Thursday afternoon. Sat in the beer garden round the back of the pub and had a nice afternoon drinking several litres of there Lagerbeer and at 2 Euros for 0.5 was well impressed. Saturday got a friend to take me to Pferdsfeld Brauerei Leicht. One beer we had in there was a dark landbeerish dunkle that was excellent and was 1.80 for half litre. Then onto the post office in Uetzin to try the butchers beer. I must say although it was OK it didnt really blow me away as the reviews on here have stated. Then down the hill to Dinkel where I had the lager beer which was avearage to say the least and just down the road again to Loffeld to Staffelberg-Bräu where the Dunkles I tried were very nice. In the evening we spent it with Andi the owner of Rotenschild who had The metzger beer from Uetzing vom fass and also 2 barrels of Monschombacher lager.
