Beer ID Followup: Ebensfeld / Puls-Brau dunkles Kellerbier |

| my friend Jeff posted in this thread about the dunkles Kellerbier had at a gasthof in Ebensfeld last year. http://www.franconiabeerguide.com/discussdet.asp?IDKEY=ZYQL pic posted here: http://i.imgur.com/ARNDFJg.png I was convinced this must be the Puls-Brau Kellertrunk http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/weismainer-original-1798er-kellertrunk/32393/ but after reading a bit about Puls and their history I'm starting to doubt. for instance, Puls now contracts production of the Gick-Brau (formerly of Burgkunstadt) landbier and the lager and pils from Brauerei Leicht Memmelsdorf. so now I wonder if "dunkles Kellerbier" may be a remnant from a now-closed brewery in Ebensfeld, contracted to Puls to put on tap in town for locals. anybody know of a previously-closed brewery that once existed in Ebensfeld or nearby which name a dunkles Kellerbier? |
