So you mean literally, you're sensitive to vitamin B, and this comes through in certain ale yeasts? Interesting. The problems with infected Victory bottles were, like I said, well-discussed, even admitted to by the brewery. Prima was the only beer I had from them that was infected, and some fan-boys used to wave it off as a result of cross-country shipment. Yeah, that's a certain cause of infection -- those nasty truck bacteria making their way in through the bottle caps... As a (non-native) Oregonian, I eschew Deschutes in general, since they abandoned their early principles and went hog-wild with national distribution, filtering instead of bottle-conditioning, and most importantly, dumbing down the basic recipes whilst jumping on the EXTR3M3 B33R bandwagon. They *used* to be everything that was *right* about microbrewed good beer; now, they're dead to me. |
