Hi Jurgen. Taste is totally subjective as we all know, and I was simply sharing my two cents worth of opinions. I am absolutely with you that simplicity can often be a very beautiful thing! After all, this is why I travel to Franconia annually. :-) I just happen to not like soured/borderline-rotting fruit characters in my lager, whereas others may actually either like it or simply not notice it. Like I said, in the case of the Vollbier, it was subtle enough so not to ruin the experience. In other words, it was merely a minor quibble. I can admittedly be finicky like that.
