The background information: The City of Munich only allows "traditional breweries" to have a tent at the Oktoberfest. New breweries doesn't have the possibility to present their beers and to make money as a deliver of beer. http://www.nordbayern.de/region/forchheim/bamberg-stechert-arena-wird-zum-oettinger-dome-1.2791603 The joke: The Oettinger brewery, the greatest brewery of Germany with a range of cheep beers (around 6 € for 20 bottles of 0.5 l) will be the new name sponsor of the "Stechert Arena" in Bamberg. They will open a micro brewery / brewpub instead of the sportsbar "Play Off". The new name of the arena: "Oettinger-Dome" Background: In the last years the enterprise Stechert was the name sponsor, paying 250.00 Euros, for the Arena in Bamberg with 6.800 seats for concerts and the Brose Baskets, German champion of Basketball in the last 3 years. Stechert delivers worldwide seats for sport arenas (p.e. world championship football arenas in South Africa and Brazil). Now they have declared that they will not continue this contract. Since the season 2012/2013 Oettinger delivers their beers and non-alcohol drinks into the Stechert Arena. In the years before: Kulmbacher and Eschenbacher. So it could be that the joke will get true. But other people say, that Adidas wishes to get the name sponsor. |
