So there you are, you had the idea of trying with someone elses brewery first already. I have an idea about such ventures that you try a small-scale pilot first: small investment = small risk. OK, so big commerce does things differently: it just spends a fortune on marketing and selling to bamboozle customers but, at our level, things are a bit different. I'm not sure about your idea that, if the price is low enough, no one would care. That hasn't worked in Ireland. Murphys and Beamish tried to outsell Guinness based on price and they failed miserably. On the other hand, the micro-brewery revolution seems to be gathering pace based on novelty and having a good, wholesome product. If it was me, I think I'd sell the novelty aspect of ale and look for a different market segment. I'm sure that there are beer lovers in Bavaria who would be fascinated to try something different, particularly with the wide range of different beers that you can produce. Also, you might be able to get a better price for them. Mind you, you might have to rein back on the hops a little and increase the strength a bit. |
