| I've forgotten -- did you buy the card at a station counter? I would speculate that the average Bahn counter agent has absolutely {0} idea of the difference between American- and German-style contracts, so they just might not think to mention the cancellation policy to someone when they're signing up. Not to mention, the agent wouldn't necessarily WANT you to cancel... There's nothing unique to the Deutsche Bahn in this, either: restricted cancellation periods are absolutely normal in all kinds of things here. Telephone contracts, cable TV, magazine subscriptions, it's just a difference in how things work, as Mike said somewhere else already. |
