RateBeer Best Lists

I don't bother with RateBeer. I quickly lost interest in it when, right after my first trip to Bamberg/Franconia, I went to look up some of the Franconian beers I had tried and was a bit put off that some of the beers I had that I thought were among the best I've ever had were rated pretty low. That indicated to me that the site was pretty useless for myself. I do find Beer Advocate is useful for learning in advance about beer bars and brewpubs when visiting a US city. For example, I go to Chicago usually once per year for work and the number of these pubs is always changing in that very large and dynamic city. So Beer Advocate helps me get a lowdown of what has popped up since I last visited or maybe even a little about what's going on lately with ones I've visited before.
