Hopping mad!

Pretty easy bait, probably wasn't even sporting. OSU sure seems to get a lot more press about new cultivars, and even at the American hops seminar put on by the ecumenical Hop Growers of America (Oregonians and Washingtonians -- working together!) last week, mention was made of how "these new kinds of hops are developed at OSU". I've played with Sorachi Ace (assumedly from Yakima, through a homebrew shop in the UK) in blonde half-IPA and really can't stand it, nor have I enjoyed it in blonde commercial English ales. Barry might recall a Mallinson's from our session a couple of months ago. But I've been ensured that it's a completely different experience in a dark beer, so I intend to procure some more and make a half-IBA with it (India black ale).
