recommendations for eating in Bamberg

I booked 3 months in advance. How long the 49 euro fare is available after that seems to depend on (i) where you want to go (ii) season and (iii) day of week. And its only available if you connect from the Eurostar onto the ICE from Brussels to Koln/Frankfurt and vice versa. In terms of time, it can't compete with air. If you leave London at 07.00, you can be in Bamberg by 16.30. But I prefer to take my time...so on way out, lunch in Brussels and overnight in Frankfurt before going on to Bamberg. Return leaves mid afternoon, with evening and following day's lunch in Koln or Duesseldorf, then home. Sounds complicated and long, but part of the fun for me is the journey, and you don't get that experience crammed in a plane.
