As much of Wagner/Kemmern's range is pretty good, I'd probably be giving that place a look, but yeah, given the location, it will probably be crowded. If you can book one of the rooms in their Pension directly across from the brewery, bonus. Rothenbach/Aufseß is rather more upmarket, and the tendency is towards maltiness in their range (although they did harvest some of their own hops from their "show garden" recently, to be used in their beer). There are also rooms to be booked here, and as a countryside destination, it's pleasant enough. Additionally, it's a pleasant walk over to Heckenhof's Kathi-Bräu. If you're _really_ feeling up for a day of hiking (and weather permits), there's the local Brauereienweg, 14 km of hiking with four breweries: http://www.brauereiweg.de/ for more. |
