This is interesting: according to the WBC Fact Sheet (page 3), non-American breweries accounted for 634 of the entries, which is slightly less than 20 percent. The US offered 2651 entries, or slightly over 80 percent. And yet, the US managed to win 208 awards, which, according to the chart is 7.8 percent "Award Winning Rate". Only the Czech Republic (6.9 percent) was lower. It seems to me a US TV station should do a piece on: why did we provide 80 percent of the entries yet win only 7.8 percent of the awards? |
