| I had Würth with Charly from the bottle at the house. Sausewind is Gasthof Zum Waldnaabtal, Neuhaus. Did not meet Ludwig. Have no idea where the Zoigl in Roter Ochse comes from - could be Kommunbrauerbier, tasted much like Wolfadl, same colour but was much less hazy. Very good beer indeed, as was the Ur-Zoigl in de Goldener Löwe in Markredwitz - no idea where that comes from (Nothaft ?). To continue the report, the last days I stayed in Ebern, NW of Bamberg. Nice hotel, but restaurant closed (Betriebsurlaub). No problem, they had Püls Brau (Weismain); used to have Maisel (Bamberg). Had dinner first evening at Zur Post, that had beers from Kulmbacher, Bitburger Pils (!) and beers from Hummel, guess what I chose? On monday and tuesday I was in Bamberg most of the time, had Beers at Spezial, Mahr's, Schlenkerla (liked the Kräusen) and Eckerts: house beer and Zwickelpils from Andreas Gänstaller. The Grand Final was wednesday in Bad Staffelstein, with Nick and Becky, and later on Mat and Scott. We all chose Metzgerbräu as the best beer. |
