No, I've never noticed those flavours (thanks for the descriptions, Jan), especially as "dominant characteristics", in the beers you listed. Bear in mind that I am not a homebrewer and that I do not come to Germany to taste beers, but to drink them. If it's your opinion that "much German beer is boring", fine, but rather than state it as a fact, it is only your opinion, after all. And, if you're brewing your own beer to over 100 IBU, that explains a lot about your personal taste, and perhaps why you find other beers "boring."
