You're not bothered by "chemical fizz"??? For shame! ;) Have you encountered the likes of Hawkshead Windermere Pale, Thornbridge White Swan, Dark Star Hophead, Buxton Moor Top(?), Ilkley Mary Jane or even Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted? These are the sort of low-gravity half-IPAs I emulate in homebrewing. Only hoppier. Speaking of which, the missus and I are planning a walking holiday somewhere in Britain in mid-September. We'd really like to explore more of the south coast, but when I look at the beer available down there, I get a bit depressed. We did survive last year's trip to Brighton and Weymouth though. We even ran into some pubs using sparklers and keeping their beer properly cool! Have to stick to Yorkshire or the Lake District, I suppose.
