Taxis from Bamberg

Taxis are not really cheap around here, compared to what I've found using taxis to get around the English countryside from time to time. What places are you considering? Have you used the various transit webbies like www.vgn.de to check out bus schedules? Within the "Forchheim district", there's also the option of cheaper taxi service from bus stops outside the normal bus service, but you have to call ahead of time. "Anrufsammeltaxi" is what it's called, though I've never used it, nor known anyone who has. < http://www.vgn.de/ast/ > Maybe you can find a local willing to drive you out to places for a lot less than a taxi; stranger things have happened. IIRC, Uncle Jimbo once got to one or more breweries via a Discobus. Perhaps he can explain...?
