If you go to this page: http://www.vgn.de/liniennetze/landkreis_bamberg/ and click on the button that says "herunterladen", you will now have on your hard drive a bus map that shows all the bus lines within the Bamberg area. Step two: go here (http://www.landkreis-bamberg.de/Tourismus-Freizeit/Genussregion-Bamberg) and look for the pdf link to "Infos zu Bierkeller und Biergärten Region Bamberg". If you look at the pdf you downloaded in step two, you will find a list of all the beer gardens, pubs and breweries in the region (including opening times). If you scroll down, you will find maps of the area (one for brewery/pubs, another for beer gardens) showing the locations of beer places listed in the 19 pages. Between the bus map and the beer maps, you should find more than enough to do for the time you are there. If you need bus schedules (the bus numbers are shown on the network map), look here: http://www.vgn.de/komfortauskunft/linien/ FYI, cars are the single most expensive way of travelling in this part of Germany. Even taking taxis would probably be cheaper!
