| I think that you might anticipate my answer to that one! Wasn't able to pass on Jim's message to Herr Schonberger (sorry no umlaut!), as it was a bit busy and my Oberpfalzische is not up to shouting in noisy stube - yet! But it is a good place among many. Last night, we had an impromptu performance of 'Dinner for One' in Loistl - you can never anticipate what's going to happen. Re Mitterteich: Charly K gave me a bottle of 'zoigl' that says on the label 'Communbrau Zoigl', then 'hergestellt für(produced for) Nageler Commun-brau GmbH., Niederlassung PF 1128, 95660 Mitterteich'. There's a lot of guff about the way its brewed on the back label that suggests its unfiltered (but it looks pretty clear to me), ending with 'gebraut nach einem überlieferten brau geheimnis in der oberpfälzer zoigl hochburg mitterteich' - brewed according to a mysterious brewing recipe in midnight pond!' - so says Google. I have also in the fridge (also kindly left by Charly), a bottle of Wurth zoigl, which definitely looks unfiltered. I wasn't too impressed when I had this in the brewery tap but will give it a go. Problem is, not much chance of sampling these at the moment, as there's so much zoigl washing about in the stub'n. Tonight, stamtisch at the Weisser Schwann, tomorrow, Himmelfahrt and Schlosshof and Gloser here and Bahler and Schafferhof in Neuhaus. When will it end! |
