Not far from the Café Abseits (Pödeldorfer Str. 180, 1,4 km, but in the direction to Pödeldorf, Bamberg country), a new (relaunched) Hotel, "Volkspark" will open at the 16th may http://www.volkspark.de/de/Hotel/Zimmer/Zimmer.html The Hotel and the Restaurant / Beer garden have a great tradition as a popular location. Now the Stadtwerke Bamberg (an enterprise of the City of Bamberg) is the owner. "Volkspark" is near by the new Bambados (indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna http://www.bambados.de Price for single rooms, starting 39 Euro and more, incl. TV, but WLAn is chargeable. I can't find the price for WLAN on the hotel website. Double room: starting 65 Euro and more. 10 rooms available. The Hotel has a good bus connection - primarily intended for the visitors of the swimming pool. 920 or 902 and 935 / 936 in the night (until around midnight). Beers from the Mahrsbräu (restaurant and beer garden), 0,5 l for 2,60 € Total investment for the Hotel, Restaurant and Biergarten: 1,3 million Euro.
