I agree on the "high price" helping to keep the riff-raff out. That's a nice thing. It's for people curious about trying a wide variety of different beers that they've never heard of before (for the general public anyway, not for us specialists). You're right about the HofbrÀuhaus beer: too sweet. It was also cloudy IIRC. This was my third encounter with the Camba beers. (They were also at the last two Brau-Beviale shows.) IMO, they're too oriented toward the Bavarian taste: yeasty and not really very much like the styles they're emulating -- the ale styles at least. I haven't tried their lagers; I live in Bierfranken, why bother? I also liked the Sorachi Ace saison beer from Brooklyn: So much SA flavour, but almost no aroma, rather, a nice Belgian saison aroma. Interesting, and better than I'd expected. Not worth a fraction of the very high price per bottle via Braufactum though IMO. You did see my photo in the thread below, didn't you? That was your first encounter with a beer engine, wasn't it? An interesting industrial revolution era contraption!
