Just finished this week's brew a little while ago. 5-1/4 ounces of Centennials for a 5.5 gallon (US) batch at 1.034 OG (150 g for 20 liters, 8.05% Stammwürze). Theoretically over 110 IBU. All fresh Centennials this time, which takes me back to the most splendid Bell's Two-Hearted Ale, an IPA from Michigan, of all places, brewed with tons of Centennials at 7% ABV. If I were to name my batches, I'd call this one (#82 since Sept 2010) "Half-Hearted". I've forgotten if http://www.mybrewerytap.com/ has been discussed here. If you're serious about wanting to explore the new wave of hoppy pale beers, you could do a lot worse than this outfit. Unfortunately, the website isn't the greatest for searching based on style. Seems quite a few things are out of stock at the moment, most notably Thornbridge Jaipur IPA and Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale. Their Wild Swan is utterly brilliant though; think I'll order myself a box. Funny, it's cheaper to ship to me than to you from the UK. |
