OT: Nick re Gent

I'd recommend Gent - it's underrated. BUT ... the main train station is well south of the city's core. Not a big deal, really, since taxis and public transport do a reasonably good job of getting you about, but if you want take day trips to Brugge or to other towns, it's something to consider.
