| "Bläck Fööss" is "Bare Feet" in Kölsch dialect. They are something akin to being the city's "house band." They've been around for more than four decades and are still pretty popular. Another Cologne band, BAP, is also popular, and has been around for more than three decades. Both De Bläck Fööss and BAP do most of their lyrics in Kölsch dialect, but are different stylistically. De Bläck Fööss do a range of styles, throwing all sorts of stuff in their musical blender, while BAP is pretty much straightforward rock in the style of the Stones, Springsteen, and Petty, with some Dylan influence as well. |
