Reports from Best of Bock?

Alas, after the planning and great advice and recommendations from here we didn't make it to Pelikan. We were reaching the end of our day (those bocks take it out of you!) and ended instead with a couple of 'U's in Mahr's Brau. My partner had never been to Bamberg before and I wanted her to taste my favourite Bamberg brew (she agreed!), which left us clear the wrong side of town for the Pelikan, with a train to catch back to Nuremberg. We managed to taste bocks in Spezial, Klosterbrau, Faessla and Altstadt (Nuremberg) though. I think Shenkerla had one on, but it was absolutely full of tourists so we didn't hang around there. Spezial's was a lovely rich traditional, dark bock, whereas Klosterbrau's was pale (slightly lighter in colour than the braunbier) - it was nicely spicy and warming but the alcohol taste came through more than I like.
