| Thanks for the cask advice. I think the main thing is I need to concentrate on doing a different style of beer for the cask like a hoppy pale ale. The stout is drinkable but not a good choice for my first cask ale. Oh well, live and learn. I did a scan of the website and I also don't see a kit that is suitable but you can mix and match. Usually for an extract beer I'd recommend a partial mash but they don't appear to have really any grains to choose from so it looks like you'll have to do all extract. Here some ideas for American IPA: Start with this http://www.homebrewwest.ie/muntons-connoisseurs-ipa-bitter-554-p.asp Add some dried extract to make it stronger, as us Yanks like to do to our IPA's, such as this: http://www.homebrewwest.ie/muntons-foil-pack-spraymalt-light-500grm-use-extra-light-if-out-of-stock-49-p.asp It looks like Cascade hops is the best choice to get that American IPA hoppiness. Don't be shy on using lots of those, especially late in the boil.
