| Mea culpa! So used to typing 'filtered and pasteurised' re British keg beer that it just slipped out. Definitely B. anstich at Mahr's and Schlenkerla - never seen a barrel (apart from the false ones) at Fässla and, in my experience, it comes from counter fonts at Greifenklau. Incidentally, as I think I said at the time, far less carbonation at Fässla during the visit in September and much the better for that. But even so, I stick to the general tenor of my comments that there is not as much difference between bottled beer and that from a stube in Germany (and possibly the USA?)as the equivalent in Britain, where bottle-conditioned beer still represents only a fraction of bottle/can sales. Perhaps that's why I like Mahr's and Schlenkerla best! |
