OT: Smithwick's Pale Ale - Amarillo Hops?

Don brought no homebrew whatsoever. Don has two other friends, coincidentally both also named Don, who are brewmasters at Silver City Brewing (Bremerton-Silverdale) and Naked City Brewing (Seattle-Greenwood). The Silver City IPA that Barry got to sample (as did several of us) was brewed professionally for commercial sale by a brewer who has more that a few GABF medals to his name. It was recently on tap at my local, as were numerous other IPAs, part of the pub's month-long "Hoptoberfest." Suggesting a craft brewery that's hard to find in its own country won't go very far in rural Ireland, unless it's one that fulfills mail-order deliveries, as Brewdog does. County Clare's entire population comprises just a bit less than 117,000 people, and the two biggest towns are Ennis (24,200) and Shannon (9,200). The nearest actual city is Limerick, and for our well-regarded English "expats" in Ireland, that's more than an hour's drive away. As is typical of mainly rural regions traditionally known for quiet countryside and poverty, there isn't much in the way of beer choice (see, also, Germany's beautiful, rural, historically impoverished Eifel, where beer choice is usually Kölsch and Pils, and the Pils is nearly always Bitburger). Pubs and suppliers rarely stray outside the safe confines of Diageo products. BTW: This thread's subject title should properly be preceded by an "OT:" as it has precious little to do with German beers, considering that we can name but one beer (so far) in the entire country brewed with Amarillo! Perhaps somebody has a project on at Braustelle in Köln (or at Camba Bavaria?). Dringste eine met?
