"Abut"...now there's a word for non-native English speakers! I shall have to remember it when my advanced courses start up again next month. This whole movement for "sours" appears to be quite the thing in the US beer scene these days. Since they're sour, yet neither lambic nor Berliner in nature, they're called sour beers. I was last at Altstadthof a year or so ago, and yes, I also found that it had improved over the previous few years. In the past, some beers were simply off, even sour. On that last visit though, everything was clean.
