Recent brewery closures

How many of these closures are due to general demographic changes? People buying beer at the supermarket and drinking at home (this is a big problem leading to pubs closing in the UK, for example), people driving or traveling outside of their home villages to eat and drink unlike their grandparents (automobile, increasing mobility), or people simply drinking less beer in general? This has probably been discussed umpteen times before, I suppose. FWIW, no chance Roppelt will close, since so many people go there and keep the place running. It's well located for car and bus travel (not to mention bicyclists escaping from savage places like Erlangen). We flew in from Amsterdam directly over the area Tuesday at about 17:30, and I could see out the window that there were lots of people there even though the temperature was only 21C. Yesterday it was packed. And the beer was back to its old, fine form again. But yes, when places close that are located far away from where the average tourist on this forum will ever think about trying to travel to, it's not surprising that there's no uproar. Still a pity though. Also a pity when Aldi leads to local butchers or bakers closing.
