IIRC, Fred has written "call before you venture forth" all over the place here. Very good advice, this. Such a pity that you ran into such rotten luck (again?). IIRC, you were here the week of the 13th-19th or so, right? Yeah, I think that was a bit of a bad patch of weather in the end. IME here June is variable. These people are finicky about their weather. When the rest of us normal humans are warm and even break a sweat, these people might consider loosening their scarves and woolen coats. They seem to have an irrational fear of cool or moving air contacting their skin at any temperature below 28C or so. It's supposed to be nearly 30C here today (or even warmer), we'll see how well people are bundled up at the Griess Keller later on. OTOH, on a walk last month along the Jurassic Coast, we were among a crowd of others who enjoyed cloudy/misty/breezy 16C weather outside in the beer garden at the most *excellent* Square and Compass pub, which would undoubtedly have been empty in such conditions in Franken. If the forecast is for under 19C, wind, and possible rain, yeah, I'd call first. I don't eat anything from stands anymore after having seen too many under cover investigative tv shows about lack of basic hygiene employed by such people over here. Disgusting.
