I was in both the Bayrischer Bahnhof and Ohne Bedenken last September. Second the recommendation on having a meal at the Bayrischer Bahnhof, but beware the construction going on all around it. Ohne Bedenken is a fine old-fashioned place, well worth the visit, and an easy walk from the tram stop. The Ritterguts Gose has had a bit of a checkered history over the last few years. I first tasted the version brewed by the Ernst Bauer brewery at the Berliner Meile a few years ago, and it was superb, but about four years ago, brewing duties were transferred a different brewery in Hartmannsdorf, just northwest of Chemnitz, and about an hour and fifteen minutes' drive from Leipzig on the B95 highway. This was what I had last September at Ohne Bedenken. There's no compromising with this one; it's sour, it's got a bit of funky aroma, and it's impressive. Get a couple of bottles to take with you. |
