| Yep, I know - the peeling instrument necessary to peel cukes will just get contaminated instead. Not all veggies peel equally easily - compare bananas or avocados instead. I suppose you can wash cukes thoroughly, too, but that's no guarantee. I'm watching a news report on a farm near Hamburg, incidentally, that is considered to be one of the primary sources of the contaminated sprouts that started this whole mess. I'll be grilling eggplant and roasting broccoli this evening. Ain't a-skeered at all. |
