| I knew there had to be a rational explanation. The good news is I finally made it to Schlüßelfeld yesterday and both places were open. The Vollbier was OK, nearly a bit sour, but the Bratwurst mit Wein-Sauerkraut was outstanding, and well worth the 5€. The sad news is the Braumeister died a month or two back, and the regular I chatted up wasn't sure about what will happen next. I didn't want to bother his sister, the boss, with questions as the chap said they're still in mourning. Absolutely lovely place and town. Festbier/Dunkel at Scheubel was OK too and the characters funny. Glad I finally made it there, a 2 hour tour to the NW with a strong SW wind. Then to the Schwanenkeller in Burgebrach, where the beer was quite decent. The wind picked up even more and turned from the west, making the trip to Hirschaid Bahnhof that much easier. At times when I was cruising along at 40 kph, the wind was just a bit faster than me. |
